Cons

  • Occasional Platform BugsA few users mention minor bugs or platform glitches—particularly during contract edits or payment processing—that can affect the user experience.
  • Pricing Structure Could Be More FlexibleSome startups and small businesses find Deel’s pricing steep, especially for low-volume hiring. There’s also feedback asking for more à la carte pricing models.
  • Document Upload DelaysContractors and employers alike report occasional delays or errors in document verification (passports, IDs, contracts), especially during peak times.
  • Limited Customization for ContractsWhile templates are convenient, a few users note that customization options are limited, especially for nuanced or region-specific terms.
  • Mobile App Needs ImprovementThe mobile experience isn’t as polished or feature-rich as the desktop version. Users suggest expanding functionality and fixing occasional lags or crashes.
  • Complexity of Tax Withholding for ContractorsSome contractors mention confusion around tax documentation (especially IRS forms like W-8BEN or W-9) and wish Deel offered more guidance or automation.
  • Integration LimitationsAlthough Deel integrates with popular platforms, some users find the integrations shallow or want support for more niche tools.
  • Client-Side Legal Review Still RequiredDespite having localized contract templates, businesses are advised to consult their legal counsel—some users hoped for deeper legal advisory support.
  • Slower Support Response During High DemandWhile usually responsive, users note slower response times during peak periods, like end-of-quarter or major product launches.
  • Not Ideal for Domestic-Only TeamsDeel is purpose-built for global teams, so users operating only in one country sometimes find it too robust or expensive for their needs.

    What they liked

I've been using Deel for about a year. The onboarding process was straightforward, and being able to sign contracts online made things simpler. The interface is clean and easy to navigate, which I appreciate. Overall, it's been a good platform for handling payments and contracts, with no major issues so far.

    What they liked

I have been using Deel for the company since 2021, and I am happy with it. I briefly wanted to change it, but as I got more acquainted with what was available on the market, I decided to stick with it. What I like the most about Deel is the easy-to-use interface, even though they have complicated it in the last two years. However, the fact that they work with 140+ countries allows me to higher contractors from all around the world with contracts suitable for their respective countries, more than makes up for that. Moreover, they are very good at advertising their services so each time they launch a new feature, it makes it easy to test and see if it is something you might need. Last, a feature that I enjoyed very much in the last year is the misclassification and the background check for new hires. The contractors I work with are also very happy with the advance payment and the reimbursement feature. What makes me happy is that I don't have to take care of it myself; Deel handles the whole process. I do highly recommend Deel to any company that works with a lot of internationals, doesn't necessarily have the budget for an HR team or a Payroll specialist; it will make your life easier.

    Room for improvement

I am not necessarily a fan of their customer support, with whom I have dealt quite a few times. The problems that I encountered were related to payments that left our bank account but did not reach the contractor. It was solved, however, I had to go through a few customer service people to solve it. So, in my opinion, they need to invest in better customer support.
